Breaking the Political Deadlock, Khanal the new Prime Minister of Nepal

 February 3, Kathmandu : Jhala Nath Khanal, the Chairman of the leftist Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) was announced the new prime minister of Nepal.  After out casting the political dead lock of more than seven months, Khanal is the majority of common understanding of  Nepal’s Politics.

Overcoming the political crisis, it was in the 17th time when Nepalese Members of Parliament came to a common understand and resolved the crisis of giving the nation a new leadership. Khanal scored 368 votes in the 601-member parliament where his competition got, Ram Chandra Poudel of the Nepali Congress, got 122 votes and Bijay Kumar Gachhedar of Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (Democratic) got 67 votes.

Khanal was politically backed by the Maoist party where his victory was confirmed after the withdraw of their own candidate  Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda).

Recently, Jhala Nathi Khanal came in controversy when one of the  former UML supporter Devi Prasad Regmi of Bharaul-5, Sunsari, slapped Khanal in his left cheek in Itahari reasoning political chaos and  irresponsible behavior  of leaders toward their Country
