BSF-BDR clash killed two in border

Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel died in a fresh border dispute between BSF of India and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) at Chapai Nababgang, a northern district of Bangladesh. This dispute caused to stop the activities of Sona Mashjid land port, which is one of important trade transits between India and Bangladesh.  

 

Local people confirmed that there was a shoot out near to the border line. However BDR said that the troops on duty in the border point exchanged fire with smugglers.

 

ETV, an Indian broadcast, mentioned in their bulletin that one BSF member died in a shooting spree at the border line of Chapai Nababgang. The border point belongs to Maldaha district of West Bangle, India

 

Locals of Bangladesh side informed that BDR-BSF shoot out started at 6:30 morning near by the border pillar of 184/1/1 that killed at least 2 people, may be they are BSF member and another one is injured , local people added.

 

After the incident regular activities of Sona Mashjid land port stopped and the panicked official leave the port compound, locals said.   

 

Local people also stated that BDR and BSF reinforced and in an alert situation in the said border area. Shout out, which started at morning, continued up to 12 noon they farther stated.

 

It should be mentioned that it is the 3rd incident of border clash between BDR and BSF in this month. #
