Jammu, March 14 (Scoop News) – Continuing discussion on budget Javed Rana, Murtaza Khan, Khalid Najib Suharwardi and Davinder Singh Rana today participated in the debate and put forth their viewpoints.
Describing the budget people friendly, Javid Rana has said that the achievements made by the Government despite passing through unrest, are appreciable. He said the development process is gaining momentum during present dispensation. He suggested for involving local investment in the micro hydel power projects and introduction of hybrid seeds in agriculture sector to boost production.
Appreciating presentation of C. Rangarajan report, he said youth of the state should be recruited in para-military and armed forces. He stressed on filling up of vacant posts lying in various departments and inclusion of left out backward villages of Poonch district in RBA list.
Murtaza Khan suggested funding from Centre on the pattern of North-Eastern States besides initiating steps for checking power distribution and transmission losses. He said economic independence is necessary for development of the state.
Mr Suharwardi demanded infrastructural development in the districts equitably. He also suggested adoption of effective transfer policy. He said Drabshalla has vast potential for promotion of Olive and demanded attention of the Government. Apart from opening of separate counters in J&K Banks for the payment of old age pensioners, he also asked for opening of separate women college in Doda district besides setting up laboratories in High and Higher Secondary schools of the district.
He also demanded enhancement of pension for ex-legislators and formation of Budget Consultation Committee of Legislators.
Davinder Singh Rana appreciated the budget saying 20 percent increase in revenue receipts is quite encouraging. He said the decision vis-à-vis management of overdrafts of J& K bank is a win win situation for all.
He said Omar led coalition government has spent Rs. 211.27 crore in two years on Mughal Road while the earlier regime has spent Rs 210.38 crore since launch of the work on the prestigious project. He said SKEWPY introduced first time in the State by the Chief Minister is bearing good results, adding that about 6 lakh un-employed youth have registered their names with concerned District Employment and Counselling Centers.
