Orchard Park New York. The Buffalo Bills on Tuesday have released their backup quarterback 26 year old Chad Lewis. The Bills signed former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jordan Palmer, 30, to replace Lewis on the current roster.
Palmer will be competing against Jeff Tuel, 23, to be the backup quarterback to Bills starting quarterback EJ Manuel, 24, who will be playing in his second season in the National Football League. Tuel is also in his second season in the league.
Palmer was released by the Chicago Bears this past weekend. The Bears decided to keep Jimmy Clausen. 26 as the backup quarterback on the roster. Clausen in his fifth season in the National Football League. Clausen will be the backup quarterback to Bears starting quarterback Kyle Orton, 31, in the 2014 regular football season.
Palmer was able to find work quickly with the Bills after he was released by the Bears. Palmer was signed by the Bills to help you Manuel and Tuel become better quarterbacks this football season.
The Bills believe that Manuel who is in second season will be the quarterback of their franchise for years to come.
The Bills are hoping that Manuel will stay healthy this football season since the backup quarterbacks on their roster Jeff Tuel and Jordan Palmer are not exactly going to scare their opponents during the 2014 regular football season.
Manuel was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2013 National Football League Draft out of Florida State University.
