China is stunned by the harsh comment of President Bush, when the later reached Beijing to attend the Olympic Games. Bush, speaking in Bangkok, spoke some straight talk about the human rights violations of China.
Speaking there, he said that we spoke for freedom of assembly, a free press, and labor rights instead antagonizing China’s leaders, but because keeping faith in its citizen with greater freedom is the sole way for China to develop its full potential.
Bush is criticized by the rights groups for attending the Olympics games in Beijing, and also for not spitting poison against China’s violations more vehemently. Bush left China in awe by further saying that he would not lecture China at the games, but his speech is surely going to anger the communist leadership there or in other parts of the world.
Would this be considered as irony, hypocrisy or what? I believe the lack of a constitution, torn or not, is what he thinks so irritating.
