Can violence be justified? Most people would say no. After all, we consider ourselves very civilized today. But what about the recent death of Osama Bin Laden? Nearly everyone cheered those Navy Seals who shot him. Don’t get me wrong-I’m glad he’s dead. However, this is violence, correct? Osama Bin Laden has, directly or indirectly, killed and wounded millions of people. I believe this says to people that violence can be used to stop more violence. Is that really correct? Perhaps it would’ve been a better idea to capture Osama, if at all possible. However, a mass murderer is dead. I feel that in some situations violence is justified, but only if it will stop even worse violence.
