One day after Cynthia Rodriguez filed for divorce from her husband Alex Rodriguez, a Boston-area woman revealed her affair with the star New York Yankees third baseman. Candice Houlihan, a former stripper, reported to the Boston Herald that she had two nights of sex with Alex Rodriguez when he was in Boston playing the Red Sox in 2004.
Candice Houlihan told the Herald that she met A-Rod as a spectator at a Red Sox-Yankees game when he spoke to her in the stands and suggested they get a drink after the game. After having a drink together, Rodriguez invited her back to his hotel room, Houlihan says, and they had sex. When the Yankees were back in town later that year, they met again with the same results.
Cynthia Rodriguez says that A-Rod’s publicized involvement with Madonna (although Madonna denies that they have any sexual relationship) was the last straw in their marriage. Now that Candice Houlihan has shared the story of her affair with Rodriguez, Mrs. Rodriguez seems even more justified in her divorce. We will see if more women go public with stories similar to Candice Houlihan.
