Yet another study conducted by atmospheric researchers within the last two years concludes that atmospheric CO2 plays at most only a minor role in climate change.
There are a number of salient points that the authors delineated in support of their conclusion, which they published in April of 2006.
For one thing, measurements conclude that ozone was responsible for one-third to one-half of the observed warming trend in the Arctic during winter and spring.
Another thing is that the authors assert that methane emissions may account for a third of the climate warming from well-mixed greenhouse gases over the last 250 years.
The authors conclude that a poor interpretation of previously collected data for the period 2000-2004 makes necessary a correction of scientists’ assessments of the shortwave albedo during that time. With this error corrected for, the albedo decreases by 0.0015, corresponding to an extra 0.5 Watts per meter squared of radiative imbalance.
And, they conclude that a small symphony of direct and indirect aerosol effects lead to climate change and atmoshperic warming such as the black carbon direct effect, the semidirect indirect effect, and the glaciation indirect effect. There is also a thermodynamic effect which has an unknown influence.
Write the authors, "We estimate that the sun contributed as much as 45–50% of the 1900–2000 global warming, and 25–35% of the 1980–2000 global warming. Even the IPCC estimates that there has been a warming influence from the Sun in their radiative forcing summary figure of about 0.25 Watts per meter squared. Adding this 0.25 Watts per meter squared value reduces the percent contribution of CO2 to about 26.5%."
What it all adds up to is yet more proof, which can be found in abundance and grows on a daily basis, but as with the idea introduced hundreds of years ago that the Earth is not the center of the solar system (let alone the Milky Way) the possessors of which have a long, uphill fight before them as they collide with the emotional armoring and have to face the mental disease of Liberalism—of which radical Environmentalism is a subspecies—which has made AGW (“anthropocentric global warming”, or man-made climate change) into an Unholy Socialist Global Church, a plague that defies all science, that concerns over carbon dioxide emissions, and the subsequent mad scramble to enact legislation to significantly reduce them in every conceivable corner, are bombastically exaggerated and their supposed effects seriously distorted.
Indeed, the study doesn’t even go far enough (clearly the authors, while being true to the principle of objective scientific observation, have also tried to be conservative in their re-assessments of the computer models and the stance of the United Nations).
For you see, studies demonstrate that CO2 volumetric increases in the atmosphere lag behind temperature increases. The media messiahs and their political masters get the cause and effect of CO2 volume increase backwards, and state this backwards distortion as fact as boldly as Hillary asserts her running from sniper fire in Bosnia (of which there is damning evidence to the contrary, and which the very captain of the very airplane that flew her and her company into the base there insists couldn’t be farther from the truth…indeed, if there had been even the remotest possibility of the presence of sniper fire, the First Lady never would have been permitted to land; and if sniper fire had begun with the plane landed, she never would have been permitted to leave the airplane.).
This writer is totally confident that the increase of a mere 100 parts per million of atmospheric CO2 (and that’s all it’s been) in the last few hundred years—even if it weren’t the fact that CO2 volumetric increases lag behind temperature increases, in perfect formation, by 800 years—could begin to account for over 26% of observed atmospheric temperature increases. Indeed, I believe that even if cause and effect were reversed, the effect would still be zero.
But politicians and their cronies with a hidden agenda believe that if you twist a perception boldly enough and constantly, you can get a whole lot of people to believe it.
The frightening thing is, they’re largely correct in that belief.
As a wise man once said, if you keep your mind sufficiently open, people will hurl a lot of garbage into it.
