Caretaker Provincial Minister for Communication and Works, Mubashar Luqman has directed to expedite the pace of work on Lahore Kasur dual Carriageway for its speedy completion.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting held to review the ongoing development projects in Kasur under the aegis of C&W department. Tehsil Nazim Agha Naveed Hashim Rizvi, DCO Kasur Saeed Akhtar Ensari, EDO Works, DO Roads, DO Buildings and other officers were also present on the occasion. The Minister said that Lahore-Kasur Dual Carriageway should soon be completed so that people could benefit from the policies of the government. The meeting was informed that the estimated cost of the road is Rs.1.5 billion. The Minister said that dual carriageway would be constructed from Lahore to Kasur and Kasur to Depalpur besides an overhead bridge would be constructed at Changa Manga to control traffic. He informed that work on construction of dual carriageway from Kasur to Depalpur via Khudian would soon be started for which approval has already been granted by the provincial and federal governments. The meeting was also informed that due to unavailability of charcoal some delay occurred in the construction of Lahore-Kasur dual carriageway but now it has been decided to import charcoal.
The Minister stressed upon the officers of the department and local public representatives to create awareness among the masses regarding protection of roads being constructed with heavy investment. He also directed to remove illegal encroachments from the roads. He directed to make necessary arrangements for immediate completion of ongoing development projects.
