Thinking of giving your home a decent makeover that won’t hurt your pocket and at the same time involve less stress? You need not worry because there are countless home makeover tips you can choose from, although you must be willing to roll your sleeves and get ready for some (not so) dirty work.

If you must spend less to give your home a facelift, you should be ready to do some of the stuff yourself. You should also make sure to inform your friends and family members and invite them to help you out during their leisure time. It will also help save some bucks in case you need to involve some experts during the course of the job. Remember, the idea is that you want to reduce the overall cost you’ll be incurring while also cutting out some stress.

Ready for the tips I’m about to share? Let’s dive in.

1. Change the flooring

The house flooring is one of the most prominent points of attraction in the house interior. That’s why it’s usually very rare for people not to notice the kind of flooring type used in the house. The level of damage on the flooring will ultimately determine the kind of remodelling required. But in all, you’ll need to go for low cost flooring if you have to change the entire flooring area. It is also important that you use quality materials that you won’t need to replace in the nearest future.

2. Upgrade your bathroom and kitchen

The bathroom and kitchen are other parts of the house that you need to remodel if for a complete home remodel. Replace the worn out or broken accessories and if you have enough space, add a few more accessories. However, you shouldn’t be too hasty to discard the ones which require minor repairs. You should also clean dirty or stained surfaces and check all the crevices for hidden dirt. The sparkling look of those accessories will definitely add life to the bathroom and kitchen.

3. Repaint the house

Is your house paint beginning to peel off? That’s a clear cut sign that your house needs a repaint. Repainting the house gives you the opportunity to try out new and brighter colours. You could even try out wallpapers which could be cheaper and require less stress to fix. They come in different varieties in both colour and texture. If you so desire, you could also reposition your curtains but make sure they perfectly match with the new paint colours you’re using.

4. Pay attention to the exterior

Don’t make the mistake of neglecting the house exterior when carrying out the makeover. Essentially, wall cracks and leaking roofs are what you should watch out for. Be sure to go round the house and mark the points having the cracks as it will enable you to fix them all at once. This same approach should be used for cracked or leaking roofs. To prevent water stains on the wall and damage in the ceiling, either patch the broken area or replace only the affected roofing sheet.

5. Take care of the garden

If you have a large compound with the better part of it covered with weeds, then it’s time to go gardening. A well-trimmed garden gives the entire house a neat look and improves the aeration of the environment. Use the lawn mower to cut the bushy areas and trim the flowers with a pair of shears. If you don’t a lawn mower, borrowing one wouldn’t be a bad idea but you should consider getting one for yourself in the nearest future.

In the end, you’ll realize that remodelling your home isn’t a big deal as some people would make you think. It only requires adequate planning and a functional budget.
