The owners of Henry,a one year old cat have taken to leafleting their nearby neighbours to see if they might be missing any socks. The feline has so far come home with around 57 socks. It’s not yet known if the cat is pinching them from washing lines or actually taking them from houses. Henry has often been spotted with them in his mouth as he makes his way over the wall to get back home.
His owner Louise Brandon says they have not yet been able to find any of the owners of the missing socks so they have not been able to reunite any of them with anyone who might be missing a sock.
Leaflets have now gone out in the Loughborough area to see if they can find any of the owners.
There was a similar story a few months ago of a cat who was collecting toys belonging to other cats. The owners didn’t know where he was getting them from or if he was going through cat flaps to take them.
Louise Brandon said:
"People must be going and replacing the socks because now we’re getting new ones.
"But no, there just seems to this endless supply of neighbourhood socks coming in and we don’t know where they’re coming from. So it’s a bit embarrassing."
And her four year old daughter Eloise said: "He steals socks every day." Resources:
