Since the economic downtown, the situation of the catering industry in Hong Konghas degraded substantially. It is very hard for the proprietors of restaurants to sustain their work in the disaster. I can’t go to every restaurant to know the whole situation, but I can see a little in the ones I used to go.
The hardest ones just closed their shops and even worse no one will come to replace it in the next 2 months. Although there is a new restaurant now, it seems too expensive to have a dinner.
The moderate ones reduced the food for each dishes and increased the price. So we don’t go to that restaurant anymore. Because the taste is much different now and we don’t like it. We’d like to make the food ourselves.
The ones that affected least are the small restaurants that sell cheap snacks. I think the reason is although life is hard, people still have some extra money to eat out of home in these small restaurants.
Anyway, life changes a lot. But life keeps going on.
