Catholic Church regrets helping PGMA’s ascension to the throne of power

The Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) released an official statement where they expressed regrets over their involvement in the EDSA People Power Revolution II in 2001 of which their congregation, the military and the business oligarchs expelled the constitutionally elected President Joseph Estrada and hastily helped arranged the swearing in of Gloria Arroyo to the Presidency.

Since then, the Catholic Church and President Arroyo and her minions have combined forces in running the show. The highest Church official in the land, Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales were even more accommodating to the president and to her government because the Cardinal’s close relatives were appointed to government positions.

The Cardinal and his church became virtually impaired in censuring the government of its wrongdoings. The “see no evil hear no evil” attitude of the Cardinal and his church became apparent. Notwithstanding the overwhelming immorality and the pervasive graft and corruption of the administration, the Cardinal seems lukewarm to lead a moral revolution. The Cardinal is suspiciously silent on the government’s misfeasance, malfeasance and the nuisance attitudes of all officials.

Good grace, the CBCP has awakened from their long sleep. They were forced to wake up from the long slumber by the noise coming from the angry masses that were cheated by the Arroyo administration for the past seven years. Marcos, the dictator, plundered the country for 20 years, but Arroyo and her minions have amassed ten times wealth for only 7 years and they still have 3 more years to fill their overflowing massive coffers.

Poor Philippines, the street parliamentarians, human rights advocates and plunder watch movement of yesteryears are now the defender of anomalies, human rights violations and plunderer of today’s Philippines. FRUSTRATING!!!
