CD Review- King Diamond

Give Me Your Soul…Please

Metalblade/UMG

Given the lubricity that shrouded the classic EP by Mr. Diamonds’ original group Mercyful Fate, he seems to have pulled out all the stops on this latest release from Metalblade Records. Written and produced mostly by partner Andy LaRocque, the King regains his throne again with thirteen innovative tracks that unravel yet another classic tale of the macabre, as told by the master himself. The lead track “Never Ending Hill” has Judas Priests’ “Painkiller” written all over it, but the die-hard Diamond-ers will certainly be satisfied with the outcome..

Still as creepy as ever, King Diamond lyrically preys upon the soul of your ears, with his trademark tones and signature screams. Evil is abound and this album (his 15th) which has been dubbed as a ‘Horror-Opera concept album”, should keep the “Keepers of the Coven” happy.
