Celebrating Valentine the Single Way
Double Trouble ahead
This year, the love-filling St. Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday. Not only you have nobody special to hug you, but you are running towards a boring, lonesome Saturday evening. Before you start screaming “Saturday, Valentine night and I ain’t got nobody…” read some tips to help you get out of the Double Trouble.
Ten Tips
1. Assuming you are single yet you have a job, begin the day with the pleasant thought that you will not have to see those nasty colleagues of yours.
2. Enjoy a long breakfast with coffee and chocolate- cornflakes with cold milk. You don’t want to feel miserably fat so early in the morning breakfasting hammy-yummy-omelettes and tons of pancakes, do you?
3. After breakfast, start entertaining yourself… the Single Way. Tune your ears to the romantic sound of the vacuum cleaner, embrace the furniture and remove dust. Dive your hands deep in warm water and wash the dishes. Stretch your arms and change the bed sheets.
4. Time for a cold shower! The chilling water drops will freeze any of romance cells still wandering around your brain.
5. Go down town for shopping! Don’t buy any of the fancy things (lingerie and jewellery) in an effort to spoil yourself. It would rather frustrate you for it will remind you, there is nobody special there to spoil you. Best is, you do just a window-shopping. You spend time but save money and frustration.
6. While window-shopping, just stick to the windows. Don’t look at those happy couples wandering around hand in hand. Little they know… The majority of them will end up in a couple of years divorced full of hate for each other. They will hate Valentine’s in the future as much as you do now.
7. Go to a candy store and buy a big size fancy heart filled of delicious chocolates.
8. Walk in into an expensive restaurant. Order a salad and a glass of wine or champagne.
9. Go back home and start calling around: your parents, your couple-friends, your single-friends. Assuming that your couple-friends will not invite you to join them tonight (this would have been a great idea though) and your single friends are blue (literally and metaphorically) alcohol) start preparing yourself for the rest of the day.
10. Cook your favourite meal, order pizza-extra cheese or fried chicken-extra crispy, not matter how greasy. After meal, lay on the couch, let one by one the heart chocolates melt slowly in your tongue. Turn the television on.
One Conlcusion
One horrible day is gone… But remember: it could have been much worst! You could be without a job, had no parents & friends, no money at all!
