On Thursday,the celebrated film and theatre star, Richard Griffiths, left for heavenly abode at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire in the U.K. following complications from heart surgery.He was 65 years old.

Griffiths earned a Tony Award for his role in Broadway’s "The History Boys," and went on to star in the film based on the play. He’s also well remembered for his turn as Uncle Monty in the 1987 cult movie "Withnail and I."
Griffiths was born in North Yorkshire to two deaf parents. A drop out from school at the age of 15 pursued acting and later joined the Royal Shakespeare Company.
He leaves behind his wife Heather Gibson, whom he met in 1973 ,married in 1980.She stayed with him till death for more than 30 years, while performing Oscar Wilde’s "Lady Windermere’s Fan."
