Central Government validates the action taken by Omar Abdullah Govenment

Fresh violence continues in Kishtwar, J&K MOS Home resigns but Centre defends the steps taken by Omar Abdullah Govenment to control the situation.

On Monday, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said it was not  wise or sensible to let political leaders to visit terror-torn Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir state .He shielded the Omar  government’s stance by pointing that visits of the politicians could further accelerate the tension in the area.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram said, “It wasn’t the right time for Jaitley to visit Kishtwar. Only once situation gets normal will leaders be allowed to visit the area.”

Apprising the House on the up-to-date state of affairs in the Kashmir Valley, Finance Minister said, “Army was called inafter incidents of violence were reported, and no untoward case has been reported after armed forces stepped in.”

Chidambaram while Validating the moves taken by J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, “Tension in Kishtwar is not related to terrorism; scuffles during procession led to violence.

Jaitley said that his state of Jammu and Kashmir is not the private property of one family. Equally, mass media as kept a dramatic silence. It requires proper investigation.

Responding to questions raised by Arun Jaitley, Chidambaram said the death of three Indians not Hindu, not Muslim in the communal clashes was regretted.
