Kargil April 04 (Scoop News) – To reopen Kargil-Srinagar National Highway (KSNH) for vehicular traffic snow clearance work is on full swing at Zojila pass from Kargil side. Heavy snow cutter machine and Dozers’ have been pressed into service to clear the snow work. From Kargil side snow has been cleared up to 112 kilometres.
Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan accompanied by Executive Councillor, Haji Ghulam Amair, Chief Engineer Project Vijyak Col. Hareesh Kumar, Superintending Engineer PWD, Abdul Wahid, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Drass and other senior officers visited Zojila pass to take on spot inspection of pace of progress on snow clearance work.

On the occasion, Chief Engineer Project Vijyak Col. Hareesh Kumar assured them that snow clearance work will be completed by April 15 and traffic will be restored on 204 km long
On the way various deputations meet the Chief Executive Councillor and he assured them that genuine demands will be taken up on priority. Chief Executive Councillor also convened an officers meeting at Drass and reviewed the stock position of food grains and availability of essential services there.
