Certificate Distribution Ceremony held among local women on completion of 2 months Mosaic Training.
CHITRAL: On completion of 2 months Mosaic training for local women a Certificate distribution ceremony was held here at Governor cottage Chitral District Nazim Chitral Haji Maghfirat Shah was chief guest on the occasion while the ceremony was presided over by Commandant Chitral Scouts Col Suhail Iqbal. Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) in collaboration with Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) organized this training. Addressing the ceremony Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan said that TMA Chitral is trying of its best to provide equal opportunities to local women for such fruitful training to enable them to earn their own livelihood and play vital role in development of Society. He said that these training need repetition and renewal for enhancement and continuation skill improvement in local women folk to enable them to live with independent way without depending upon male persons and to empower them by gross root level with a honorary and fear means. He said that this is initial stage and more training for 6 months would be arranged for Chitral women at Lahore, Quetta and other big cities to boost their specialty in this skill. He said at first 27 women were trained mosaic (to joint small pieces of marble and stones to prepare a decoration piece) and number of trainee would be increased gradually. He stressed upon AKRSP, SRSP and other NGOs as well as Provincial and Federal government to support TMA Chitral for continuation of these trainings for women empowerment.
Miss Nasreen Gender and Development Officer of AKRSP hailed efforts of TMA and assured them of full support by AKRSP in training of local women. She said by this way we can empower local women as they are often jobless but after completion of mosaic training now are will be not jobless and can earn something. She said that 70% of total population is poor and majority of them are women folk because of having no equal opportunities for employment and other sources of income.
Miss Nihad and other women also hailed TMA Chitral for arranging this training for them. Hence they demanded for provision of raw material to Chitral timely so as to enable them to continue and boost their training with more best ways. Addressing to certificate distribution ceremony District Nazim Chitral Haji Maghfirat Shah thanked Pakistan Stone Development Company and TMA Chitral for conducting this training. He said that Chitral having rich potential but need polishing of skill capacity of women folk as there are marble factories and a marble city will soon be opened here to promote marble sector. He stressed upon the women folk who have successfully completed their training to continue their activities otherwise they will forget this skill. He assured of full support by district government. At last District Nazim Chitral, Commandant Chitral Scouts Col Suhail Iqbal and Tehsil Nazim Sartaj Ahmad Khan distributed certificates among the successful trainee women of Chitral. Representatives of civil society, General Manager of Aga Khan Education Service Zuhran Shah and other were also present on occasion. Commandant Chitral Scouts offered of providing of technical support on behalf of his wife who is an designing expert. They also presented gifts to guests, soniever and appreciate certificates to Commandant Chitral Scouts, Manager of PASDEC, female instructors of mosaic training, TMO, PA to Tehsil Nazim Rahmat Wali and a local journalist Gul Hamaad Farooqi for covering all these activities voluntarily. At last the trainee women displayed decoration pieces prepared by them.
