Certificate Distribution Ceremony held at PDC of Aga Khan University.
CHITRAL: Teachers were considering Architects of the nation in past but now teachers of government schools are considering Destructive of the nation because they are not hardworking and lazy said Ahmad Khan Special Secretary of Education NWFP in a Certificate Distribution Ceremony at Professional Development Center (PDC) Chitral a branch of Agha Khan University. He was chief guest on the occasion. He said that the provincial government spending a huge amount on education but even then a head of government school send his children to a private schools because of no trust on these schools as well as result of Govt. schools are not so excellence as expected due to lack of interest of our teachers and they motivate students towards Tuition. Greediness of money badly affected our teaches and they taking no interest in teaching of Govt. Schools. He stressed upon the teachers to restore their image by hardworking and keen interest with great honesty with their profession. Because they are preparing a nation and if they were put their students on a wrong track the future of the nation will be dark. He said that there are so many countries who came into being after independence of Pakistan but they are developed nation despite having less natural resources but Pakistan is still under develop country having rich potential of natural resources because of low literacy ratio and at 38th number in World literacy ratio. No nation can develop without education.
He said developed countries teaching Mathematics on first priority and Physics on second priority in their educational institutions. He said our schools facing lack of science teachers and the existing number also deprived from professional grooming and not compatible to impart and educate their students with best way to prepare a best nation he added. He said we have recently launched a Professional Development Forum at Chitral to enhance teaching skill of teachers. This is totally a volunteer forum and will solve difficulties of teachers. He said professional development is must for career building. He said that teachers of Govt. Schools would never be stopped from any training at PDC in future. He said parents mostly trust upon private schools instead of Govt. Schools because they are lazy and teachers of public schools are hardworking even then they getting very little salary as comparative to teachers of Govt. Schools. He said we arranging for trainer of the trainee.
He said that accountability and evaluation would be more improved in government schools for increasing literacy ratio and quality education in the country. The special secretary of Education Ahmad Khan was addressing a certificate distribution ceremony at PDC Chitral where 27 male and female Mathematics teachers from government, semi government and private schools were trained and they were given certificates after completion of 2 weeks long training workshop in teaching of mathematics. This training was conducted on the request of Executive District Officer School & Literacy Chitral Samad Gul for enhancement of contents and teaching skill of teachers.
Miss Salma Babar of Gilgit, Faculty Member of PDC North qualified from Aga Khan University Karachi, Ibrahim Khan and Aziz Rahmat teachers of Govt. School at Chitral were facilitators and instructors of this training while Khanzada of PDC was coordinator.
Dr. Mir Afzal Khan Tajik Assistant Professor and Head of PDC Chitral also spoke on the occasion. He said that in past teachers of government schools were not allowing by their heads to get any training from PDC but recently they are facilitating and allowing by their heads. He said we mostly focus on teachers training especially teachers of Govt. Schools to enhance their teaching skill. He said any teachers can never success to teach his students 100% until the students having no interest in learning. He said if education department continue their cooperation PDCC will arrange a second phase of teachers training for Govt. teachers. He said that PDC have trained 457 male and 1027 female in formal education, health education etc. Mehrab Wali Shah In-Charge Head Master of GHS Rich and trainee of recent course said that after completion of this course we feeling great changes in our practical and teaching life and we success to improve our skill. He said Sciences subjects especially Mathematics having changes day by day and we were informed about latest research in Mathematics. Now we enable to teach our students with a best way to compete other students of high profile public schools. He said that there is acute lack of uniform education system and equal curriculum. He demanded for equalized and uniform curriculum and sallybus in all schools. He also demanded of teacher’s promotion on their efficiency basis and imposing proper check and balance system in Govt. Schools for warning and encouragement of teachers.
At last chief Guest Special Secretary Education NWFP distributed certificates among the successful teachers of different schools. EDO School & Literacy Samad Gul was also present on the occasion.
