Jammu, March 08, (Scoop News)-Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash on Sunday hinted at setting up of high profile trade centre to showcase traditional Indian products for international clientele online.
The Minister stated this while addressing a mammoth gathering of entrepreneurs after inaugurating a 7-day exhibition-cum-sale at Kala Kendra.
Being organized by the Khadi Village Industries Board, the objective of the exhibition is to extend marketing support to entrepreneurs besides ensuring them much needed exposure.
Parkash said that this would be step towards making the state a hub of Indian traditional products, having huge demand in the world, besides promotion and preservation of our rich cultural legacy being recognized globally.
“Let us pledge today to create a favourable atmosphere for women entrepreneurs to optimally utilize their business potential for industrial growth which would be a real tribute to women on World Women Day”, the Minster opined. Every day is women’s day and they should be given equal opportunities to participate in socio, economic and political world for good of their community, he added.
The Minister said that the government would work out a plan envisaging special skill development programmes for entrepreneurs especially women which is pre-requisite for meeting requirements of today’s market. This, besides bringing in innovations in entrepreneurs creation, would enable the skilled manpower compete with global trends, he added.
Parkash emphasized further enhancing of coordination level among all concerned departments to meet our set goals as combination of team spirit and strong will power can do wonders in bringing about a visible change in the society. He said that industrialization is also significant for curbing mounting unemployment which has created dejection among our most talented and educated youth.
The Minster inspected the stalls being put up by entrepreneurs of various districts under KVIB, KVIC, Handicraft, Handloom and other departments.
Secretary I&C, Sourabh Bhagat, said that KBIV is doing a commendable job in promoting village industries in the state and such events would further help dissemination of information about the schemes of the Board.
