NGO in action. SCADO Launched charity collecting drive for IDPs.
CHITRAL: Snaff Conservation and Development Organization (SCADO), Chitral a renowned District level NGO lauched campaign for collecting charity and donations for Internaly Displaced persons (IDP) the NGO providing charity services besides its future Developmental plans. The organization has performed various developmental and charitable plans and services.
Charity and welfare services are one of the objectives of the organization. In view of the recent situation of IDPs of Malakand/Swat, where every NGO and CBO is active to help the IDPs along with Govt: and other agencies, there SCADO also decided to play its role. For the purpose, SCADO launched a donation campaigns for IDPs. In this regard, the MC of SCADO constituted a donation raising team including the office bearers. The President also headed the team in view the importance of the campaign.
The SCSADO performed donation raisin campaign using one planed tools ” Jholi Phelaw” (begging for helpless people) at Chitral and Drosh Bazar at further to performed this campaign at Garum Chashma, Booni, Mastuj Mulkoh, Torkoh, Bumburat Arndu, Ashurat and Ayun Bazars. SCADOO also has made partnership with other Non Government Organization and Community Based Organizations (NGOs/CBOs) at different areas to make effective and continue the campaign. Many other events have planned for this purpose. The campaign has been started from May 21, and likely to be continue until achieving its target.
People are fully cooperating with SCASDO in this regard and the look like aware and sanitized about the situation. However SCADO received some comments as feedback from masses.
Majority of the business community was not satisfied and of the opinion that donation made by the business community is not reaching to the IDP. They feared that might these donations embezzling in its way.
The people are more willing to donate through NGOs/ CBOs.
SCADO thinks it very fit to thanks the business community for the encouragement. SCADO further appeals to all to cooperate and donate with open hearted.
Talking to APP president of SCADO General Musa Chitrali and Umar Ali Khan general Secretary told that they have collected some 21865 rupees from different community and likely to be sent to internally displaced persons of Swat, Buner and Dir etc. They further appeal to general public to must come forward and to help their brethren in this difficult time because this is not only responsibility of government but also of masses to help Govt shoulder by shoulder for compensating internally displaces persons.
