Let’s get back to the point, when you enter any keyowrd in the adword planner for checking it smonthly volume, CPC etc. There is an box names as competition. It is not actually mean that it SEO competition 🙂 it is advertiser competiton i.e if it has high competition then it means there are many advertiser who are willing to bid on these keywords. So, try to target those keywords who has low or medium CPC competition.
2) Getting competition idea from google search:
Open google sarch engine and search for your keyoword. After making search google will show you the results about that search term. just below the input search box you will see number of results as shown in the picture bellow. It means that there are specific number of sites who has posted mateiral related to your earch term.
i.e in my case it is showing me “627,000” results having my targetted keyowrds. Now you need to enclose your search term in double quotes i.e “your keyword here” and search again. It will refine the search and give you exactly matched data. i.e it shows only those results who actually targeted this keyword. When I applied this on my search term i got about “2640” search results. Which means i can write for it. It has somewhat low competition.
Tip: try to target those keywords who has exaclty matched results are under 100k.
3) Have a look on top 10 ranked websites on that search term:
Sometimes we got such high volume keywords which are easy to rank but we are afraid, whether we can get it ranked or not. I have a solution for it too. What you all need to do it, open first 10 websites who ranked for that purticular keyword and analyse their post i.e check their social metrix, Backlinks, content lenght and on-page. If you think you can do even good than those, go ahead and write about that. Sometimes, our keywords are ranked by some authority websites like WiKipedia, amazon, wikihow etc. If you found them on top then no need to take worry, you can beat them easly :).
