Cheney Unhappy That Libby Didn’t Get A Pardon From Bush

Does anybody remember who Valerie Plame is? For those keeping track of the news should know about the notorious CIA scandal back in 2003. Valerie Plame’s identity as a CIA agent was leaked out. She could be considered “Jane Bond.” She worked in covert operations since the age of twenty-two.

On October 22, 2007, Plame’s memoir was released out to stores. It was known as “Fair Game: My Life as a Spy, My Betrayal by the White House.” The book implicates many high-profile figures such as Carl Rove, Scooter Libby, and Robert Novak. However, Libby was the only one charged and convicted.

Libby was convicted on the charges of perjury. However, his sentence was commuted to two years of probation. As a result, Libby’s DC law license was revoked by the US Court of Appeals.

While Bush gave pardons before leave office, he did not issue a pardon to Libby. So far that upsets ex-VP Dick Cheney. Libby was an aide to Cheney prior to the conviction.

He was the victim of a serious miscarriage of justice, and I strongly believe that he deserved a presidential pardon. Obviously, I disagree with President Bush’s decision,” Cheney said. So far, Cheney is not the only one upset. Other conservatives are angered at Libby not getting pardoned.

While Libby was charged with perjury and obstruction of justice, there were no charges in regards to leaking Plame’s identity. In a nutshell, Cheney is very displeased that Libby did not get pardoned. Those wanting Libby to be pardoned can pray and wish though.
