Chennai High Court clears Kamal starrer ‘Dasavatharam’, to be released on schedule

The Chennai High court dismissed the public interest litigation by the International Sri Vaishnava Dharma Samrakshanaa Society against K.S.Ravikumar’s film Dasavatharam on Thursday.

The Chennai High Court bench comprising Justice Venkatraman and Justice Satyanarayanan observed that the name ‘Dasavatharam’is ancient religious name and hence no one, which includes the petitioner can claim the intellectual property for the title.Having cleared the hurdle Ravichandran is ready to release the film.

According to Ravichandran, the producer of the movie said that he had immense faith in God and was confident of a verdict in his favour.His film does not insult any religion, but instead it favours them.That is why the movie has been given a clean ‘U’ certificate by the censor board.

Ravichandran apart from producing the picture at a huge budget of Rs 60 crores will also be releasing it himself worldwide with 1000 prints.

Insiders reveal that Dasavatharam will be screened specially for the current CM, Mr.Karunanithi and the former CM, Ms.Jayalalitha by the end of this month.
