At 39 years-old Cheryl Angelelli Kornoelje will be the oldest Olympian at the Beijing games this summer. She already won two bronze medals for her achievements in swimming at the 2004 games in Athens and is favored to win the 100 and 200 meter freestyle events this summer. But on land, Cheryl Angelelli Kornoelje cannot move as swiftly; she’s been paralyzed from the waist-down for 25 years.
Cheryl Angelelli Kornoelje will compete in the Paralympics, the second largest world-wide sporting event in the world following the Olympics.
