Talat Qayyum Qureshi Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court has been laid to rest in Peshawar,he was passed away on friday night at a hospital in Rawalpindi.He was 57.He was a heart patient with kidney problem. He was elevated to the post of Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court on the night of Nov.3, 2007 when the president of Pakistan imposed emergency and when the siting Chief Justice and one other senior Judge of the Peshawar High Court refused to take Oath under the provisional constitutional order as they thought that it was nothing but to obey all the orders of the president whether legal or illegal and whether constitutional or unconstitutional.The lawyers during his tenure as Chief Justice did not appear before him as they obsere boycott.The demise of the C.J will further enhance the worries of president Musharraf.
