In a bid to prevent child labour ,25 child workers were rescued by the department of labour, National Child Labour Project (NCLP) and non-governmental organisations after raids in Srinagar Colony and Kamalapuri Colony in Hyderabad.
A total of 20 cases have been booked against people who engaged children under the Child Labour, Prohibition and Regulation Act 1986. The demand notices worth Rs 20,000 on and also minimum wages notices for allegedly engaging the child labour was served on them. According to the Labour Act, those who engaged children may get three months to one-year imprisonment.
