children and their abuse

we hear of child abuse every day. No race , no country, no region, no race is free from this guilt. As a result, children grow up too fast and attain to adult status too soon and react like adults when they see themselves. they take defensive measures themselves.

we are not talking of physical abuse of children alone. Saints as well as psychologists agree that the child phase is the most impressionable one and the children absorb whatever comes their way. Most adults, be they parents or guardians or teachers, have outgrown their child phase and forgotten what is good for children.They burden the children with facts and data the latter could do without.

for instance, even the media fail them. There is not one newspaper or magazine run by children, for children  and y children inour blessed land. Most newspapes however have jumped onto the bandwagon of marketing the product in educational institutions through newspaper in education programmes.The greater damage lies in making them aware of adult themes ahead of times. You no longer whisper it. You flaunt it.And offer some visuals which will make it even clearer.Then again, children being employed ahead of their time in commercial enterprises. there was the case of a parent trying to win international recognition after gettting a permanent acount number from the income tax department. The

 gurgaon shootout was as much the parent’s doing as the teenage son’s. for it was the father, according to his statement, who taught the son the tricks of shooting. A responsible adult thinkstwice before imparting knowledge. why did the father not visualise the possibility of misuse? one recalls the incident in Mahabharata when Subhadra, who was bearing abhimanyu, heard from Arjuna about how to get into Padmavyuha(lotus formation or array of the army). This proved to his undoing and death.

The cruelty and physical abuse of children are well publicised. the greater damage to our social fabric lies in adults being adults in their dealings with children and saddling them with knowledge which is harmful.this abuse too must end.
