Children be left alone in choosing their own career

Rev. Laban Otiato of ACK Christ Church Kakamega Milimani has challenged parents not to impose career choices on their children but enable them decide on which career they are interest.
Speaking to a congregation during a Sunday service in Milimani Kakamega, Rev. Otiato attributed the growing misdemeanors among professionals which are misleading the young generation.
“It is common to find doctors and nurses harassing patients and teachers molesting our children in schools because they were forced to pursue their careers,” said Rev. Otiato.
While noting that every child has a unique gifting from God, Rev. Otiato called on the parents of this generation to let children become what they want to become through proper guidance.
Rev. Otiato’s remarks come barely days after KCPE and KCSE exams were concluded countrywide.
The clergyman also emphasized the need to embrace diversity as a nation including our native languages, saying speaking mother tongue does not amount to tribalism. Tribalism, he said, happens in offices during appointments and promotions.
The reverend, a curate at the church delivered his “hard” sermon as he warned Christians against lust of the world. We were not created poor, but the love of wealth breeds evil in society,” added Reverend.
