There is no better investment of a parent than investing in his or her children’s education. Education is a platform that will enables a child to interact with people and fit justly in society. There is a great need to encourage our children to read more and healthily.
Firstly, a lot of knowledge is contained from books. Children should be trained to a good reading culture by people close to them. Anything a child reads sticks in her mind for a long period. Storybooks, magazines newspapers are among reading materials that should be made available to our children.
Secondly, our children are been morally washed by internet. There is easily accessed to adult sites from phone and computers. If children are encouraged to spend their free time reading books, they will definitely have little to watch dirty stuff. Reading will help to reduce and prevent an idle mind which is the devil’s workshop? Many children have great professionals as their role models. They should be encouraged to read more if they would wish to be like their role models or achieve to great heights than them. We should plainly tell our children there is no shortcut to success in life but education.
Pride and confidence is associated with a lot of reading. When children meet during holidays, they discuss about their schools and education. Children who have read a lot or have much knowledge and feel a sense of high self-team, confidence and pride. On the contrary, those that have read little feel inferior. For that reason, we can say reading boosts self- confidence to a person. And therefore, makes our children to feel the same as their friends, Confidence and wide knowledge will help them greatly in future.
Since children are innocent they are at an upper hand to fight tribalism using education and vast reading cultures. They will grow to understand other communities by reading about them.
One of the primary benefits of reading to toddlers and preschoolers is a higher ability for learning in general. Numerous studies have shown that students who are exposed to reading before preschool are more likely to do well in faces of formal education
Another illustration of the importance of reading to children is the ability to grasp abstract concepts, apply logic in various scenarios, recognize cause and effect and utilize good judgment. As a child begins to relate the scenarios in books to what happens in his or her own world, He will become more excited about stories he share with other children.
In this intelligence, parent should ensure their children know how to read and write. Teachers alone can deliver without the help of other community members to educate our children. At home, school and church, reading material should be provided to children.
