The men’s and women’s singles and also the women’s double finals were all played between the Chinese. Over 350 payers from 42 countries participated in the World Badminton Championship held at Hyderabad, India from August 10 to 16, 2009 . Lin Dan of China nicknamed “Super Dan” won the men’s single title by defeating Jin Chen. In women’s single final Lu Len defeated of China Xie Xinfang winning the women’s single title. Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng of China won the men’s double title. China’s Zhao Tingting, right, and Zhang Yawen won the women’s double. Laybourn and Kamolla Rytter Juhl of Denmark won the mixed double finals.
