China Tainted Milk Powder Scandal In Focus

The world is now looking at the tainted powder news. Tainted milk powder in China had caused nearly 13,000 infants to be sick and warded in hospitals. The top regulator for quality had resigned last Monday and this has really caused a very big impact on products made in China. "Made in China" has really came under fire by this very shocking news that toxix milk powder has caused four deaths and has triggered many countries in Asia to ban milk products that originate from China.

The Quality Chief of China, Li Changjiang’s resignation came after this news had came into light. He was the highest ranking official coming down so far by this milk powder scandal according to a China news agency.

It has been reported that the government had pointed their finger at the localised officials for the unexcusable delays in informing this problem to higher up officials. An investigation went underway to uncover that Sanlu has been receiving customer complaints pertaining to its milk powder since way back from December 2007.

This incident could have been curbed and resolved had it been reported and highlighted earlier in my personal opinion. It was left unturned and undetected which escalated to a world-wide incident that is currently in focus.

It was released that the substance found in this diary product is Melamine. Melamine is used in making plastic. According to medical experts, melamine can cause the development of kidney stones, it could also possibly cause more critical complications by crystallizing and then blocking tiny tubes within the kidneys.

We could see more news coming from this tainted milk saga and it will take a great deal to regain the confidence of the people not only in China, but more specifically the people around the world to perceived "Made in China" products positively. As of now, many other dairy products like "White Creamy Candy" had found containing Melamine, were either recalled or even banned by local governments of many Asian countries.
