Two days after the President of India,
Pratibha Patel conferred the rank of
"Honorary General", on the chief Nepal Army
General Chhatraman Singh Gurung, India’s
move for rolling red carpet for Nepal has
been somewhat upstaged by a latest move
by China.
China will train the Nepalese Army and it has
also pledged Rs.220million as military
assisstance for procuring "non-lethal", and
logistics to Nepal.
This comes though General Gurung is on a
week long visit to India. The Nepalese Army
Chief has spoought for tanks, an air-strip and
recruitment of Indian Gorkhas to be
conducted by the Indian Army in Nepalese
Army.
A Chinese military delegation led by Major
General Jia Jialing has met Nepal Defence
Minister, after that it emerged that China and
India are now locked over an un declared
fight over helping Nepal.
Notably, Indian Intelligence Agencies has
warned a fortnight ago about the impending
meeting and the probability of a big
announcement by China at the end of this
week.
