China’s new Shenyang J-31 stealth fighter could rival our most advanced F-22s and F-35s fighters according to a internal report.
The J-31, a fifth-generation stealth fighter, will make its official debut at the Zhuhai International Air Show Nov. 11-16 in southern China’s Guangdong province.
The Shenyang J-31, also known as “Gyrfalcon” (鹘鹰), or Falcon Hawk by some military enthusiasts, is a twin-engine, mid-size fifth-generation jet fighter currently under development by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation.
The fighter has also been referred to as F-60 or J-21 Snowy Owl (雪鸮) in some media reports.
It’s believed the J-31 was developed using the information stolen hacked from the Pentagon’s nearly $400 billion Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program. The J-31 will join the J-20 stealth fighter in the Chinese air force inventory.
The J-20 is another plane believed based on stolen data.
According to one report Lieutenant General Charles Davis, the top uniformed Air Force acquisition official, told lawmakers that China may have used data from unclassified U.S. computer networks to design and build the planes, although he said the Chinese planes’ capabilities would probably not measure up to those of the F-35 and F-22 fighters, both built by Lockheed
