It was reported by one of the mainstream media stations today that there is an "eminent threat" of a cyber attack by the Chinese military (according to British Fox News), with an "expert" weighing in on this potential threat to America’s national security.
I had to laugh, once again, at this one…
Since we are, as reported, indebted to the Chinese in the billions, and the Chinese people have a great deal of the jobs and our manufacturing base which has been progressively outsourced to their country during the past three decades, just why would the Chinese wish to bite the hand that feeds it?
Not to mention the fact that even some of the food stamp programs are "administered" through foreign based (India) call centers, just who created this "problem?"
Seems to me, this was another Washington institigated (or Euro instigated) attempt to control the bloggers and "outside the box" reporters who, due to the upcoming elections, are not buying either political parties platforms or agendas in the guise of this "national security threat."
While regulating some of the commercial sites on the internet is well within Washington’s Constitutional powers, those that are not protecting American’s productivity or creations (or news reports), using this flimsy excuse in order to control the sources of information in this country was, from all reports, seen for what it was by many of the bloggers and journalists not on the mainstream media’s Washington fed gravy train.
After all, Washington has actually encouraged this technology – even going so far as "mandating" that American’s health care records must now be accessible to huge national databases, but also their banking records.
Washington, in effect, created this monster by its own patterns and practices these last two to three decades.
But using "national security" for whatever reason in order to bypass or destroy the Constitution?
That has been a rather new motivation.
There is a difference between true "commerce" and protecting the rights of Americans, and misusing such power in order to quash public dissent and debate.
I hope that those in Washington know the difference.
But at this point, I truly doubt it.
Just who will be the next enemy or potential national security threat?
