Chinese man sentenced to 12 years in prison for cracking and hacking software

 On Tuesday, a U.S. Court sentenced a Chinese businessman to 12 years imprisonment for illegally selling stolen defence software used in space technology and engineering valuing more than $100 million. The 36 year old Xiang Li could be deported to China after his release from U.S. prison.

He was arrested near Guam in   June 2011, in an undercover sting by American Home Land Security on the Pacific island of Saipan, an American territory. 

 Xiang Li was charged in a 46-count indictment, he pleaded guilty in January of criminal conspiracy for copyright violations and wire fraud in U.S. He confessed that he did commit "wrong and illegal" acts and offered apologizes to the court for his criminal acts.

 On one occasion Li offered more than 2,000 pirated software titles on his site. he prosecutors claimed that the investigations have revealed that  Li was associated with a bigger circle of cyber-crimes in China.

Li called himself as a member of an international organization created to crack and hack software.
