Lawari Top re-opened for all type of traffic. CHITRAL: The only land route connecting Chitral to other parts of the country Lawari top was re-opened by National Highway Authority (NHA) for traffic Assistant Director NHA Anwar Khan Khattak confirmed while talking to this scribe. Lawari top had blocked for all type vehicular traffic at midnight of Wednesday and Thursday after heavy snowfall. Hence it had opened for a few moments on Thursday but after heavy snowfall and continues rain it was blocked once again on Friday. District Nazim Chitral Haji Maghfirat Shah and Tehsil Nazim Sartaj Ahmad Khan in an emergency meeting had directed NHA official for opening of Lawari top immediately. It is worth to mention here that carrying of POL (Petroleum, Diesel & Kerosene Oil) could not completed timely and there was stock of fuel for only one month and PSO were reluctant to release oil on credit to petrol pumps owners. But after intervention of district government high ups of Pakistan State Oil agreed for issuing oil on credit basis to private petrol pump owners and dumping oil stock for 4 to 5 months which will be released to petrol pumps during winter season when Chitral remain disconnect with other parts of the country. Supply of POL etc is not possible in winter season when the Laari top is close due to snowfall.
