450 patients examined in Free Specialist Medical Camp at Rumboor Valley.
CHITRAL: some 450 patients were examined whose were also provided free medicines in Free Specialist Medical Camp organized by Chitral Scouts at Rumboor Village of Kalash valley. Both civil and military Doctors participated in free medical camp. Major Doctor Mussivir Hussain Bangash Medical Specialist, Major Dr. Asim Niaz Consultant General Surgeon and Dr. Samiullah of DHQ Hospital Chitral examined more than 400 patients both from Muslims and Kalash (Non Muslim) communities on volunteer basis who were affected from flood and were suffering from different infectious diseases. They were also provided free medicines mostly donated from foreign countries. Talking to this scribe Commandant Chitral Scouts Col Haroon said that Chitral Scouts under auspices of Pakistan Army fully supporting flood affected people and we have conducted a series of such free medical camp. He said that more free medical camps would be arranged at different parts of the country, which has been affected by flood and where there are no health facilities. He said that Chitral scouts and Pakistan Army will left no stone upturn to support needy and affected people of flood. An aged lady who has came from very far-flung and remote locality of the valley Mrs. Laila Bibi said that there is no health facility in this remote valley of Kalash community. She said that there is only a single dispensary where there is no medicine but only a single dispenser working here. London Bibi said that we suffering badly from different diseases after heavy flood but there were neither health facility nor any doctor in the entire valley. Social and political circle of the area highly appreciated services of Chitral Scouts for arranging this free medical camp and demanding for continuation of this series because there is no health facility in the entire valley.
Moreover the only link bridge between Shekhanandeh and Rumboor valley has been damaged by flash flood and there is no other option for passengers. Residents of the entire valley facing great hardships while they come or go to the valley. Besides it a micro hydro power house at Rumboor village also damaged by flood and now the valley is fully plunged into dark there is no electricity. The damaged hydro power house has been constructed by a local NGO. Residents of the area have appeal to government as well as other social organizations to support them in reconstruction of the only bridge and micro hydro power house of the valley.
