CHOGM – PM attending or not verses Sonia ‘in the loop’ SL crimes.

The piece “CHOGM – POLITICAL PERSPECTIVES – SOUTH BLOCK …SAVE SRI LANKA FROM UNHRC INITIATIVES” in GroundReport.com 11/01/2013 examines Swapan’s portrayal of a humorous melodrama of the Sonia loyalists camouflaging the cruel role of her South Block loyalists in the SL crimes and Delhi’s diplomatic posturing to cover up those monstrous crimes on the Tamils. The Tamils dread the continuing Sonia South Block’s role in a genocide to reduce the Tamils to an ‘endangered’ community status. By categorically reporting on the crimes, the UNHRC Nava Pillai impliedly points to the view that the CHOGM community has to re-examine the case for CHOGM members deeply associating with the SL genocide murderers of civilians in Mullivaykkal and elsewhere. Sonia misuses the South/Block Delhi bureaucracy to diplomatically hijack the respectable CHOGM (Kamalesh Sharma excepted) into closely associating with criminals facing UNHRC action and to save the Rajapakses and possibly also Sonia and her associates for this.
Those deeply hurt by the South Block Delhi’s role in the SL crimes were not only Tamils in SL; also TN Tamils, patriotic Indians disgusted over the SL blood stains be-spoiling India’s clean image and Delhi’s advocacy of genocide crimes impairing India’s diplomatic standing in the international community. The decision on whether the Indian P M should or not attend CHOGM required several meetings of the Congress or core Congress to cause much disrepute to a one time distinguished Congress that won India its independence. The complication was that Sonia implicated the South Block Indians in the SL crimes and they had to be saved. On account of the Sonia factor the Indian PM had to avoid awkward conflict of interest complications. Congress on high moral grounds would have acted differently had it not been for Sonia and South Block (MEA) Congress getting involved in the SL crimes and this caused the PM’s indecision on moral grounds.
There was a serious conflict of interest complication especially with Gothabhaya pointing to the involvement of MEA and NSA in the battle ground decisions that resulted in SL/Sonia committing the much debated crimes that surfaced fast. Though the bulk of the crimes were committed five years ago, thanks to the Sonia factor especially the misuse of power by the Sonia/South Block group, managed to delay justice to the victims. Delhi’s reluctance to act against SL was the apprehension that the South Block officials could be implicated for collaborating with their SL counterparts. Delhi desisted from pushing Gothabhaya any further to prevent him (for fear of China) to open the can of worms involved in the ‘in the loop’ Delhi-Colombo arrangement. On the timing of battle front decisions Sonia and South Block had inputs in the planning and execution of the war to finish off the Tamil rebels regardless of how heavy the civilian casualties. Gothabhaya is reported to have cleared with the ‘in the loop’ trio the assault on Mullivaykkal packed with civilians. The timing of the assaults had electoral/political implications in TN; Gothabhaya planned to share out the blame for the deaths in Mullivaykkal with the South Block accomplices headed by Sonia.
With Gothabhaya feeling strongly, that the consequences of operational decisions cleared by SL trio with the Delhi ‘in the loop’ trio had to be shared. Once Gothabhaya came to know about the scale of civilian casualties, he promptly and publicly declared the existence of the ‘in the loop’ arrangement that Delhi had with SL. The guilt for the resulting crimes had to be shared with Delhi. Gothabhaya acted promptly to let Delhi clearly aware that role in the crimes was a joint one. From then on Colombo began to act as if Delhi has to share in the criminality, weakening Delhi diplomatically in negotiations with SL. Hence In the 5 plus (post – Mullivaykkal) years, the policy of SL appeasement did not produce any tangible benefits for Sonia/Delhi.
The Delhi PM attending CHOGM would bloody the Delhi’s image with SL’s massacre stains. This is bound to anger Indians at large not just Tamilians as Swapan claims. With the enthusiasm of Delhi’s suspect media and political personalities diminishing the cause the international community was fighting for for over 5 years was to ransom by Sonia/South Block bureaucrats. Key independent Congress personalities are now reasserting themselves and urging P M Manmohan Singh not to attend CHOGM. Likewise reputed media personalities are deserting their mis-guided advocacy of Sonia/South Block anti Tamil cause.
Swapan’s expose’ critically examined revealed the flaws in Swapan role as a paid scribe. Before Swapan could finish his paeans on the Rajapakses’ contribution to Tamil reconstruction and rehabilitation UNHRC’s, Mdm Navi Pillai released her fault free report on the conditions of the Tamils in SL for use by the UNHRC to act on SL crimes. Desmond Tutu added his wisdom to the debate/condemnation of Delhi’s attempt to lend respectability to CHOGM by allowing the Rajapakses with a reputation for conducting despicable war crimes widely condemned around the world to actively participate with important officials in the CHOGM actively supporting was queer.
Manmohan Singh not attending CHOGM is unlikely to deter the Rajapakses from confrontation with Delhi and SL’s belligerence could become dirtier and even threatening to India. A SL spokesman warned Delhi of SL’s membership of the ‘third corner of a Beijing-Islamabad-Colombo axis’ (Dayan) would not allow Delhi a NAM vision as a moral power.
Sonia /South Block has for close to a decade strangled foreign policy making in Delhi with disastrous consequences for the Tamil community. The performance of the MEA and the NSA is legendary that both still repeat its many empty mantras including ‘engage with SL’ the closest and friendliest neighbour. Sonia/South Block’s appeasement of SL contributed in a major manner to the decimation of the Tamils with the Tamil problem and associated emotional pain TN Tamils remains unresolved and boiling. In nurturing SL friendship Delhi is sowing divisive seeds hurting TN Tamils as a community. Delhi denies any support from the harsh treatment of the SL navy for TN fishermen in post 2009. The step motherly treatment of Tamils by the South Block bureaucracy is alarming with Delhi writing off TN as a state in the Indian Union.
After engaging for over 5 years in Sonia’s South/Block’s appeasing SL policies nearly half the Eelam Tamil community have disappeared (killed, disappeared, driven out, impoverished and caused the greatest misery). This position is best described by Large and Bue in the WSL of Nov 6, 2013; this WSJ piece is objective and scholarly unlike the Swapan pieces.
Why the Sonia/South Block encourages P M Manmohan Singh to attend CHOGM is to prevent Gothabaya spilling out in detail Delhi’s ‘in the loop’ criminal acts exposing them to the same crimes that the UNHRC is chasing SL after. Once Gothabhaya exposes Sonia Delhi’s crimes; this would outclass the worst human rights abuses the world has witnessed.
