Kalash Community celebrating their new dancing cum worship place Charso.
CHITRAL: Residents of Rumboor (Kalash valley) celebrating their newly constructed Charso (Dancing cum worship place) at Rumbor valley. Charso was completed with the financial support of Chitral Integrated Area Development Program (CIADP) in collaboration with Ayun and Valley Development program (AVDP) . District Coordination Officer Chitral Rahmatullah Wazir was chief guest on the occasion of inauguration ceremony of new dancing place (Charso) of Kalash community having the most unique culture and very rare generation of the world. The new Charso was completed with a cost of 3.30 million rupees which was totally completed by local community in supervision of AVDP. Besides it CIADP also completed some projects and announced more developmental Schemes for the year 2012 for which more fund is required. Addressing to the opening ceremony of newly constructed Charso ASfandiar Khan program coordinator said that CIADP keep keen interest in development of rural areas like Kalash valleys. He said that different projects were completed and some were designed for the area. Infrastructures developmental & improvement schemes, culture related schemes, special disaster grant projects etc. It is worth to mention here that Chitral district government approves work plan for all these developmental schemes. More than 1500 beneficiary were supported directly or indirect way. Focal person of district government who monitoring these schemes Ziaur Rehman Executive Magistrate said in his address that remaining projects of 2012 should be start as soon as possible to benefit more people of this backward area and to take maximum benefit from weather window and these are urgent need of people. Some 30 million rupees have been spent on uplifts schemes in the entire area on 30 different developmental schemes. DCO Chitral thanked Norwegian and Netherland government for donating a huge amount of their taxes for development of this backward district. He also assured Kalash community for their full support and protection. They were also presented traditional gifts according to Kalash culture. Chairman AVDP Muhkamuddin, Program Manager Wazir Zada Kalash, Saifullah Kalash, Barzangi Kalash, Luk Rahmat Kalash and other spoke on the occasion. At last Kalsh women also presented traditional and cultural dance in honor of their distinguished guests. A large number of people from both Muslim and Kalash community participated in opening ceremony of newly constructed Charso. It is to remember that Kalash people perform folk dance at Charso which is a part of their religious worship and unique doctrine.
