Kathmandu, Nepal: With the prices of Gold shooting up skies, these days’ jeweler shop keepers are targeted by looters. In a recent attack on Friday Kapan-based Mata Manakamana jewelry Shop, proprietor Harka Bahadur Diyali was killed on the spot and injured his assistant Roshan BK during the ordeal. After the killing the police came into action and two of the suspects Prem Sunar of Okhaldhunga and Shankar Ghising of Makwanpur were arrested and made public on Saturday by the police.
According to the police, “The gang planned the robbery plot at a Tokha-based rented room of Sunar, assigning Ghising, a wanted hooligan. The robbers attacked the jewelry shop at around 6.30 pm. The robbers faked the plot by a gold loan by a bate of 1.5 tola of gold as against a loan of Rs 47,000 by collateral. When Diyali had a issue with them he tried to shouted, They had shot at Diyali and BK at point-blank range.”
The police further added, “The criminal involved in the crime have all been identified and warrants have been issue. Police also revealed that the same gang was behind the murder of a youth in Duhabi last month at the robbery of a Pokhara-based jeweler shop. We are further doing the investigation and we are very hopeful that we will nail them down”
With the killing and shootout, the Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai also called a meeting with the home minister and other department regarding the security situation and the investigation process on Saturday.
