Srinagar, May 10 (Scoop News) – Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday said that Government is committed to address the genuine grievances of employees and Cabinet Sub-Committee on the subject is already engaged in discussion with the representatives of Government employees. “Government has already told the employees that the roadmap for the payment of arrears will be worked out within next three months which they have agreed”, he said maintaining that issues of HRA, conversation of COLA into DA and other matters are being actively discussed and finalized by the Cabinet Sub-Committee.
The Chief Minister was interacting with media persons in the Civil Secretariat who had come to cover the opening of offices here after annual Darbar Move.
Omar rejected the reports carried by a section of press regarding the differences in the Cabinet about transfer policy describing it unfounded and imaginary gossip.
“There is complete conformity and total agreement between the coalition partners about the proposed transfer policy”, he said adding that some suggestions are being worked out to make the policy more strong.
He said that in order to nominate the members to the State Accountability Commission, the Committee for the purpose is meeting soon. “The proposal to this effect would be submitted to the Governor after taking the opinion of the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir who has taken over recently”, he said.
“We are also intending to convert Vigilance Organization into a Commission to give it more teeth to curb the corruption and book the culprits”, he said adding that Government has also put in place a new law regarding ‘Benami’ transaction of properties which will help in a big way to move forward on the front of eradicating corruption.
On proposed Rehabilitation Policy for return of youth from PoK who had crossed over but did not indulge in militancy and now want to join the normal life, Chief Minister said that the policy is being fine tuned for sending it to the Central Government.
Earlier, on his arrival at the Civil Secretariat, Chief Minister was greeted by his Cabinet colleagues, members of the council of ministers, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Financial Commissioner, Home, Principal Secretary Agriculture Production, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Principal Secretaries and Commissioner/Secretaries of various departments, Commissioner/Secretary General Administration Department, President, Non Gazetted Civil Secretariat Employees Union and a large number of employees. The Chief Minister was also presented Guard of Honour by the State Police contingents.
Omar also inaugurated two computerized clerical halls and the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell. The Director Estates Khurshid Ahmad on the occasion gave details of the work done in connection with the computerization of the clerical halls. He said out of the 25 halls of various departments, 8 have now been computerized and rest are being computerized in a phased manner within next couple of years.

S. Kapur, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai and Commissioner/Secretary General Administration Department, Bashrat Ahmad Dhar.
