Civilians and Christians Under Attack In Iraq

Poetry From The Heart

Christians leave Qaraqoush
thousands gathered in a cathedral
extremists cause them to leave their homes.
Extremist groups attack Baghdad
people killed by double suicide bombings.

Extremists capture towns and villages
minority scrambling from communities
fleeing for their lives.
Extremists’ believe Yazidis and Shiite as apostates’
demands Christians convert to Islam or pay a tax
they must run…fear for children’s lives.

Yazidis, 50,000, half children
flee to mountains top outside Sinjar
running out of food and water
needs provisions and aid.
Iraqi military troops delivered aid
Extremists must be stopped.

Extremists must be stopped
people rush from homes
exacerbates Iraq’s dire humanitarian crisis
assistance for the homeless required.
Many Iraqi’s displaced from violence…
help is needed to eliminate terrorists.

Extremists must be stopped
a self-styled caliphate across portions of Syria and Iraq
seized Iraq’s largest dam
captures control of power and water resources
leverage over Tigris River
running through heart of Baghdad.

Iraqi cities, towns, seventeen in all, seized
pray for an intervention to stop this violence
pray for peace throughout the regions
pray for those in fear of their lives
pray for an intervention from God
stopping the Extremists now!
