Cliff Gullet died on the Bonneville Salt Flats when he lost control of his motorcycle at 239 mph while trying to set a speed record.
Cliff Gullet was the owner of Team Bozeman Motorsports and had already set a number of land-speed records when crashed while trying to be the first 500 cc Streamliner to reach 400 mph. He crashed while on a time trial for the record-setting run and team members and experts don’t know what made Gullet lose control of the motorcycle.
The Bonneville Salt Flats is a desert area on the Nevada-Montana boarder, know for huge expanses of flat. It is the location that almost all land-speed records are made and broken. Cliff Gullet will be missed by the entire motorcycle and racing communities.
