The video posted today of a prominent Clinton campaign advisor slurring Indianans is a hoax, according the film maker who shot it.
The video circulated with subtitles that quote advisor Mickey Kantor as saying "Look at Indiana…it doesn’t matter if we win. Those people are shit." He then appears to whisper, "How would you like to be a worthless White nigger?"
On Politico.com, Ben Smith states that he spoke to "The War Room" director D. A. Pennebaker, who asserted that Kantor "does not say that. He does not say that."
The director’s reaction to the "those people are shit" comment was that it was misinterpreted. "What he says is he’s surprised Perot’s numbers are holding. He says ‘they must be shitting’ in the White House."
Pennebaker thought the second "white nigger" slur was completely fabricated.
"A thousand people saw that film in theaters and didn’t think" the second expletive had been used, he said. "It’s very clearly understandable. It’s not like it was in Bulgarian."
