Clinton Asks Texas Supporters To Vote In Primaries And Caucuses

US Democratic hopeful and frontrunner Hillary Clinton made it simple when she addressed her supporters. She told them to vote twice and vote early. One would ask: How can someone vote twice? In Texas, one can vote twice because of the delegate rules set by the Texas Democratic Party.

In a sense, there are two contests in the state of Texas. There will be a primary and there will be a caucus. Since Texas and Ohio are considered to be “must win” states for Hillary Clinton, she would need her supporters to participate in both the primaries and the caucuses.

US Democratic hopeful and co-frontrunner Barack Obama has gotten a marginal lead over Hillary Clinton. Obama has won eleven straight contests while Clinton has lost eleven straight contests. Recently, Obama has won the Democrats Abroad global primary giving him his 11th straight win.

While addressing the crowd, Clinton would try to explain how the process of the rules worked. She would say: “Some of you may not have heard that there are two elections which you have to participate in. You know, there is a primary on March the 4th, in which you can vote early until February 29th or vote on March 4th. But then I need you to go back on the evening of March 4th to the convention in order to stand up for me.”

Clinton would also take the time to attack Obama on his health care plan and inexperience. Before the Wisconsin contest, Clinton’s campaign launched a pamphlet that said Obama’s health care plan was not universal. The non-partisan group known as FactCheck.org supported Clinton’s claim.

On an unfortunate side, a Dallas police officer part of Clinton’s motorcade crashed and died. Clinton would then give a statement to reporters in regards to the officer’s death.

Clinton said: “I have just learned of the death of a Dallas police officer in a devastating accident that occurred as the motorcycle officers were leading out cars to this site. We are just heartsick over this loss of life in the line of duty.”

She added: “This reminds us once again what our men and women in law enforcement do every single day and it is important that we respect and appreciate their service.”

Clinton canceled a rally to meet with the officer’s family.
