Clinton To Donors: The Adventure’s Not Over Yet!

The current state of the Democratic race may give off the indication that co-frontrunner Senator Hillary Clinton of New York is in a desperate position. While Clinton had won the Indiana primary on May 6, she barely beat co-frontrunner Senator Barack Obama of Illinois by two points. In the case of the North Carolina primary, Obama gave Clinton a swift defeat.

Though there may be greener pastures for Clinton after May 6; but, will it give her campaign the necessary nutrients to sustain itself? Despite winning major states, the infrastructure of Clinton’s campaign has cracked and deteriorated. Clinton has gone through several shakeups in her campaign.

However, despite losses, Obama’s campaign still remained rock solid and strong. Clinton had even lost valuable donors do Obama.

So far, it has been “Obamania” in the last few days.

Recently, Clinton has made an appeal for her donors to stay with her. In Clinton’s words, she said: “Let’s keep going. Stay with me, this is a great adventure!” Her daughter, Chelsea, has also made an appearance at the fundraiser.

Perhaps this is a last ditch attempt to get people to remain aligned with her. Still, Clinton is not out of the race yet. There are still six contests left. Clinton plans to do three campaign events in West Virginia after Mother’s Day. So far, support for Clinton in West Virginia has been strong.

Clinton and Obama are still fighting for the remaining superdelegates. DNC Chair Howard Dean said that the remaining superdelegates must pick a candidate they will stand with by the end of June.

There is also talks of a compromise to resolve the Michigan and Florida contests.
