TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras: A Cocaine-carrying plane crashed near northern Honduras, killing the pilot, according to Honduras authorities.
The plane was carrying some 2200 lbs, 1000 kilogram of Cocaine, although some 220 lbs (100 kg) was burnt in the crash, according to sources.
Two US Drug Enforcement Administration helicopters were pursuing the plane, according to vice minister of security Mario Perdomo, but the US officials denied that.
Perdomo also added that the plane left Venezuela and was heading to Honduras, bay Islands, and a transit point for US bound Cocaine.
