Confidence at the beginning of the road

Coco Chanel, actually Chasnel Gabrielle, was born on 19 August 1883 as the second daughter of a street trader in Saumur .She was an illegitimate child.

Few people know that the brand of Chanel started in an orphanage, where she spent the next creative step while she was tailoring.She started to work as a seamstress and later moved to Paris where she worked in various nightclubs as a singer and performing dancer. Here she received the stage name "Coco", as we know it today. Since 1909 she worked as a tailor in Paris.Her desire was to be a freelancer hatter .

Her talent manifested itself for the first time in the design of hats. It was the time when hats were over the top and decorated with various ornaments and accesories. Chanel has had her first money from simple creations, by beeing high appreciated in Paris by the fashion communities. Her story was just beginning.

The first innovation of Chanel was the "little black dress", or "Ford dress", as Vogue called it, easy to wear and with a beautiful simple form. The controversed dress has won the battle against the time and changes of trends by beeing always reinvented. The materials used by Coco in her haute-couture creations were different from anything else:there wasn t at all an exibition of luxury ,it was just the simplicity of her unique creations.

Chanel was also a closed friend with Pablo Picasso, Sergei Diaghilev, Jean Cocteau and Igor Stravinsky .
